Jeana (she/her)--- like Gina-- but more complicated because her mom wanted to make an easy name more difficult to pronounce.
A playwright, educator, producer, born & raised in Staten Island (& forever complaining about it) and currently living in Brooklyn. Writing about things like reclamations of shame, cycles of forgiveness, and seeking to find if generational curses exist. Interested in creating a mess & digging through the mess. Trying to create theatre in ways that can challenge hierarchical forms. & always wanting to bring people together to cry and laugh while eating bowls of pasta.
Her work has been performed with Clubbed Thumb, The Brick Aux, The Bechdel Group, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Dixon Place, The Tank, New Perspectives, Access Theatre, Rutgers University, Horse Trade Theatre, and Theatre for a New City. Clubbed Thumb's 2021/2022 Early Career Writers' Group. She currently lectures at Purchase College, and the Maggie Flanigan Studio, teaches devising to little humans, & helps produce students' work.
