Jeana (she/her)--- like Gina-- but more complicated because her mom wanted to make an easy name more difficult to pronounce.
A playwright, educator, producer, born & raised in Staten Island (& forever complaining about it) and currently living in Brooklyn. Co-founder and co-artistic director of Ugly Face Theatre. Writing about things like reclamations of shame, cycles of forgiveness, and seeking to find if generational curses exist. Interested in creating a mess & digging through the mess. Trying to create theatre in ways that can challenge hierarchical forms.
My work work has been developed with Clubbed Thumb, The Brick Aux, The Bechdel Group, Fresh Ground Pepper, Dixon Place, The Tank, New Perspectives, Access Theatre, Rutgers University, Horse Trade Theatre, and Theatre for a New City. Clubbed Thumb's 2021/2022 Early Career Writers' Group. I currently lecture at Purchase College, and the Maggie Flanigan Studio, teach devising to little humans, & help produce students' work
